miCode Studio Privacy Statement

Your code is private. miCode Studio is designed from the ground up as an offline-first code editor with zero background telemetry.

Last Updated: October 2026 Zero Cloud Tracking 100% Local Processing

1. Core Privacy Principles

At miCommunity, we believe modern developer tools should respect your hardware and your intellectual property. You shouldn't need to sign into a cloud account or broadcast your keystrokes across the internet just to write software.

The miCode Studio Commitment: We do not collect, transmit, inspect, store, or monetize your source code, your folder structures, your keystrokes, or your development environment data.

No Telemetry

No tracking pings, keystroke logging, or background usage beacons.

No Forced Login

Launch the editor immediately without creating an account or providing an email.

True Offline Safety

Works in air-gapped workstations, military facilities, and secure local subnets.

2. Zero Telemetry & Diagnostic Tracking

Unlike many proprietary code editors, miCode Studio does not contain telemetry beacons or analytic reporting daemons. When you write code, switch tabs, save files, or run scripts, those actions trigger no network packets to our servers or third-party ad networks.

Diagnostic crash logs (if generated by the operating system or Electron runtime) are saved strictly into your local machine's temporary directory and are never automatically transmitted over the internet.

3. Your Code, Source Files & Projects

Every file you open, edit, create, or delete in miCode Studio resides strictly on your local disk or designated local network shares:

  • Local Monaco Parsing: Syntax analysis, tokenization, bracket matching, and code folding are executed directly by the local Monaco engine running in your local Electron instance.
  • Local Autocomplete: Code completion dictionaries and language snippets are stored locally on your hard drive and queried in-memory.
  • Local Terminals & Execution: Commands executed in the integrated PowerShell or Bash console run under your personal OS user permissions with no remote interception.

4. Outbound Network Traffic

miCode Studio only initiates outbound network connections under explicitly user-commanded workflows:

  • Extension Marketplace (Open VSX): When you open the Extensions view and search for a plugin, a search query is dispatched to the open-source Open VSX Registry (open-vsx.org) to fetch package manifests.
  • Manual Update Check: If you manually click "Check for Updates" in the Help menu, the application queries micommunity19.org to compare version numbers.
  • Web Preview & Dev Servers: If you run a local PHP or Node.js server, network traffic is confined to your local loopback address (127.0.0.1 / localhost).

5. Local Configuration & Settings Storage

miCode Studio saves your editor preferences (such as selected color theme, font size, tab spaces, and recently opened projects list) inside standard operating system application directories:

Windows Configuration Path:
%APPDATA%\miCode Studio\
This folder contains your settings.json, keybindings, and installed theme extensions. You can delete or back up this folder at any time.

6. Global Compliance & Data Protection

Because miCode Studio does not harvest, process, or sell personal developer data, it complies by design with international privacy regulations, including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and educational privacy mandates.

7. Privacy Inquiries

If you have any questions regarding privacy architecture, source auditing, or institutional security compliance:
